Why the Door Revolves

 The Story of Recidivism:

Prisoner Re-Entry is something that mainstream society doesn’t generally think about, except when it affects a member of our family. For millions of Americans, it already does.

Recidivism is at record levels and so is our prison population. Corrections budgets are at an all time high in an economy that not only cannot afford to house prisoners but can less afford to be without productive tax-paying members of society.

We are working to make sure that ex-offenders can become re-acclimated into our communities as productive citizens, ensuring that their past does not become their perennial future.

Our seminars and workshops can be conducted nationwide. Please reach out to us and help us change this revolving door system.

Success Stories:

Michael DeLeon
“When I lost those many years of my life, and I realized looking back that there was no gain in drugs and gangs, I knew I had to make a difference in the lives of youth. I don’t want my past to become their future.”

Idris Rahman
Idris is someone that spent many years of his life behind bars and tells a compelling story of a life lost to the streets of Newark, New Jersey and subsequently New Jersey State Prison.

Darnel Atkins
A powerful and dynamic speaker using his many years involved in gangs and drugs to empower young minority youth that the game of the streets has no winners.

Samuel Norman
“I lost so many years of my life because of drugs and subsequently years of incarceration, that I knew it was time for a change. The way the system is set up, it is unfortunately very hard for an ex-offender to make it. I took advantage of programs that are out there and reinvented myself. I now work helping Steered Straight spread this important message through the internet and technology.”
